In SUPPORTIVE HOUSING, consumers are able to access attendants on a 24-hour basis. Although the attendant services offered at the location are subsidized, consumers are responsible for all other expenses, including rent, utilities, food, etc.

Supportive Housing

Kiwanis Village, Cambridge

ILCWR has three Supportive Housing Projects

  1. Kiwanis Village (Cambridge)
  2. Mooregate Crescent Apartments (Kitchener)
  3. Shamrock Housing Cooperative (Waterloo)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Eligible or possess a valid health insurance card.
Be 16 years of age and older
Have a permanent physical disability and require personal support services and homemaking on a continuing basis in order to remain in the community
Be able to direct their own personal support and homemaking services
Be able to have medical/professional needs met by existing community health network.

Require services throughout a 24-hour period and be unable to have their services effectively delivered on a visitation basis because:

   - they require monitoring or services during the night
   - they need emergency response services
   - their determined level of personal support services and essential    homemaking warrants on-site services
   - those requiring mental health services will be eligible if their mental health services are already in place.
