OUTREACH assists physically disabled adults to:

  • live independently in their own home or in residence at the universities
  • maintain employment and/or pursue adult education program
  • prevent the need for premature hospitalization
  • leave institutional facilities
  • assist family members in providing support

  • Outreach assists physically disabled adults
    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
  • permanent physical disabilities
  • require personal care
  • 16 years of age or older
  • health card eligible
  • able to direct your attendant services
  • take a leadership role in the hiring, training and management of attendants


  • What makes ILCWR Service Delivery Unique? You are a co-employer in your attendant service delivery. You can take a leadership role in when you receive your service, hiring, training and managing your own attendants.

    SERVICES AVAILABLE:
    Services are provided on a pre-scheduled "block-time" basis up to a maximum of 21 hours/week. In exceptional circumstances additional hours may be granted.

    Attendants can provide assistance with a wide range of activities of daily living at home, at work or at school such as:

  • rising and retiring
  • bathing/showering
  • toileting
  • transferring
  • range of motion exercises
  • meal preparation including bulk meal preparation
  • light housekeeping
  • grocery shopping
  • paying bills and banking

    This program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and there is no cost to the recipient.
