Life Without Limits

On June 5th, 2017, ILCWR partenered with the City of Kitchener and Dancing with disAbility to celebrate Independent Living Across Canada Day. This year's theme was Life Without Limits: a look at inclusive recreation and leisure opportunities. There was singing, dancing, inspirational words and a chance to meet people from local organizations offering various inclusive recreation and leisure activities.

We were thrilled to have Mayor Vrbanovic provide the opening remarks, as well as words from Jill Simpson, founder of Body, Mind and Movement and the Dancing with disAbility program and Paula Saunders, Director of Access and Awareness, here at ILCWR. Our keynote speaker, Jeff Martin spoke of his experience redefining "independence" after a motor vehicle accident and sharing his advice for your finding your own song.

A big thank you to Tanya McIntyre from the Good News Only, Tim and Paul from the TM Jazz band for helping this event run so smoothly and another thank you to Chartwell Westmount for providing the table of delicious treats.

Thanks for all of those that attended and made this such a fantastic event.
