Local organizers have announced that they plan to bring the Special Hockey International tournament to Kitchener from March 13-17, 2013.

The tournament, whose competing teams will be comprised of young adults with developmental disabilities, will be held at the Kitchener Auditorium and Activa Sportsplex, and is co-hosted by Kitchener Minor Hockey, the City of Kitchener, and the Kitchener Ice Pirates, a team of athletes with developmental disabilities.
