We all Benefit from an Inclusive and Age-Friendly Community

Residents are invited to get involved and provide their feedback about what Kitchener is doing well to support aging residents, and identify their priorities for making Kitchener an even more age-friendly community.

If you live in Kitchener and are thinking of your future, are retired or semi-retired, or provide support for an aging adult, this is a great opportunity to have your voice heard, and make an impact on improving areas of our city to support older adults and aging residents.

The survey will take between 5 to 10 minutes to complete. There are also paper copies of this digital survey available at all community centres in Kitchener.  All responses are anonymous.

An age-friendly community is a place that supports older adults to live active, safe, and meaningful lives, to maintain their health, and to participate fully in all areas of community life.

This survey is based on the eight categories of age-friendly communities that were developed by the World Health Organization in 2007. Based on these categories, you will be asked to tell us what you think are the most important priorities for Kitchener.

This survey builds upon the citizen feedback received during four public workshops, which were held in community centres across Kitchener in May 2016.  Over the summer, information gathered from this survey will be analyzed and community priorities will be identified.  Citizens will be invited to review these priorities and provide additional feedback in September and October of 2016.  These priorities will inform the age-friendly community action plan to be presented to City Council in early 2017.
