The federal government has established a panel with the goal of creating a more inclusive workforce for Canadians with disabilities!

In a 2010 government report, the employment rate for people with disabilities was 59.6 percent, compared to that of 80.2 percent for people without disabilities. Despite the Employment Equity Act and the growing economy, many are citing lack of flexibility and discrimination as the cause of such underemployment.

But change could be on its way. With several business executives on board, from companies like Tim Horton's and Loblaws, the panel hopes to gain some  insight as to how employment and business practices can be changed to make meaningful employment accessible to all.
