With the Olympics over, Canada's Paralympic team has started its journey to London. One hundred and and forty-five athletes from across the country will be participating, five of whom come from the Waterloo Region!

Elmira's Katie Harncok and Kitchener's Tyler Miller will represent Canada as part of our women's and men's wheelchair basketball teams. Runner Leah Robinson of Mannheim, along with judo fighters Justin Karn of Kitchener and Tim Rees of Waterloo, will also compete with the world's best.

Online streaming of the Games will be featured from August 29th to September 9th 2012 on the Canadian Paralympic Committee's website, CTV's Paralympic coverage page, and CTV's French broadcasting website, RDS. CTV will also summarize the events of each day from 10 to 11 p.m. EST, while joining TSN2, Sportsnet One, RDS, and RDS2 in showing the opening and closing ceremonies. More scheduling information will be published later this month.

So, don't forget to tune in and cheer on our local Paralympic athletes!
