Scientists in the United States have created technology that is successfully able to read the brain signals of people with mobility impairments, and translate their imgained movements to robotic arms which carry them out.

The incredible study on BrainGate chips, conducted in 2011 and published this week in the scholarly journal, Nature, has very promising implications for a new generation of assistive devices for individuals with mobility impairments.

Followers of the ILCWR News feed may remember a similar story from Switzerland on April 24th, which may indicate that the perfection and wide distribution of this technology is not far off.
