The Cities of Kitchener and Waterloo are making the following provisions with regard to accessibility for the upcoming municipal elections in October 2014:

·     All voting locations are wheelchair accessible

·     Greeters will be at voting locations that do not have automatic door openers to assist as required with opening external doors

·     A person can request assistance to mark his or her ballot at all advance poll locations and on election day.  The assistant could be someone the voter brings with him or her, or it could be an election worker.  The voter must swear an Oath of Incapacity to Vote without Assistance.
