The Peer Resource program at the Independent Living Centre of Waterloo Region can provide navigational assistance for individuals with disabilities who are new to the community, new to their disability, or looking to pursue goals like employment or education.

By offering a support network of people with disabilities and community agencies, the Peer Resource program empowers individuals to find solutions to life’s hurdles through:

  • Coaching, encouraging and motivating consumers to develop positive self-worth and independence.
  • Support and encouragement when dealing with troubling issues.
  • Community linkages to meet individuals’ objectives, such as, volunteering or employment
  • Workshops based on consumer needs and growth.

For further information on the Peer Resource program, please contact Dan Lajoie,
Peer Resource Coordinator
