“The staff here were wonderful about getting me in and settled and making me comfortable.  No other services in this area would be able to provide the support care that you do.”

Consumer Vacation

“Thanks again for the extra ‘caregiver hours’ last Thurs[day] and Fri[day].  I had such a good time in Niagara-on-the-Lake with my friends.  It was the first time in MANY years that I have been able to go, and I really appreciate the caregiver support from ILCWR.  Please pass on my thanks to [the person] responsible for approving the idea of caregiver support hours.”

In-Home Respite

The In-Home Respite program is designed to provide relief to friends or relatives who are acting as the primary caregiver for someone with a physical disability.

Our In-Home Respite attendants are happy to step in so that primary caregivers can attend appointments, run errands, or simply take some time to relax.

Direct Funding

Direct Funding is an innovative program which enables adults with physical disabilities to become employers of their own attendants.

The Independent Living Centre of Waterloo Region is proud to offer this program because it exemplifies the spirit of consumer-directed care that is at the heart of all of our services.

Direct Funding allows for attendant service up to six hours a day, for a maximum of 182 hours a month.
